Some F-R-E-A-K-Y perfomances, Some F-R-E-A-K-Y ideas and F-N-D announces its First Production!!

First chapter in the history of Freaks-Next-Door!
And so Freaks Next Door began its journey with out much fanfare and excitement. On the serene and drizzly evening of 20th August, 2010 the freaks got together for the first time and created some memorable freaky moments!!

The dullness and the laziness of the atmosphere was turned into electrifying excitement by Vivek's edgy portrayal of a local Bhopali rickshaw-wallah's suffocating ordeal at the time of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. Raghav followed with a very cute and amusing take on the auditions for the role of Ram in the upcoming Ramleela.

Out and out slapstick with a hard hitting message in the end - No body is good enough to be Ram today. In our epic times- the villains and the demons rule.

~Freaks at Work~

Abiha stunned everyone with a very moving and heart felt depiction of witnessing your loved one in pain, perhaps even dying. It was Ankit Akodiya later on who eased out the tension with a very subtle and satirical narrative on village panchayat, nicely penned down by Rohit, Shantanu and Sudhir. Deeksha thereafter struck the emotional chords to perfection with her earthy and rustic impression of a old Punjabi women in the aftermath of partition. Later Parnil, decided to give Robin Williams a run for his money by recreating Good Will Hunting.

A sudden shift in theme was marked by the comic-tragic enactment of Main Tumhaare Bachche Ki Maa Banane Waali Hoon by Shivani and Aarshi. Arushi brought to life the tensions which exist in a marriage, unveiling the harshness of normal conversations. Then Smarika took over the stage and did a near-perfect impersonation of Manthra from Ramayana. Trisha did a cute depiction of an old motherly woman, performing puja and taking care of the usual household chores, simultaneously.  And finally to call it a day, Vipin & I ended up doing the closet-homo-strangers routine, clueless about where all of this is going.
Rohit, Lordy & Sudhir working on the script!!

The evening concluded with the unanimous consent on NON-SENSE being the first production of Freaks Next Door. A few ideas were put forth by Parnil and Ankit; All in all, seems like Freaks Next Door has started its innings on the right note. Still, a long way to go.

P.S. - All those who missed the first phase of auditions needn't worry, F-N-D has room for all of you. :-) Keep checking for updates.
